The Village of Zavattarello
Uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia

Once upon a time...
The name Zavattarello comes from zavatarellum, a term linked to the historic artisan production of slippers. Located in the Oltrepò Pavese, it is recognized among the most beautiful villages in Italy for its charm and history.
Inhabited since ancient times, it is said that it offered refuge to Roman deserters after the battle of Trebbia (218 BC). The symbol of the village is the Dal Verme Castle, built in the 10th century and transformed into a war school by the Dal Verme family. Today it can be visited and offers a spectacular view of the Tidone Valley.
